Another week of Bachelor in Paradise and my fight with Dean is only increasing! Oh but those piercing blue eyes are oh so mesmerizing!!! This week was chock full of drama; from fights, early departures, and a returning Canadian it embodied everything I love about Bachelor in Paradise.
I told you last week, that the drama is at the highest when the men hand out the roses, and it really ramped up. When Christen arrived, I was not hopeful that she would really stir the pot; I mean she got next to no screen time during Nick’s season and she is the virgin of paradise, a title that should only be held by the one and only Ashley I.
However, I could not have been more wrong! That girl literally went after crazy Jasmine’s man and proceeded to make out with 3 men! Bring it, girl! I have to say I feel bad for her being called “scallop fingers.” It started off as funny but it seemed to get increasingly mean. If she was being teased to her face about it, it would be one thing. But they are all mocking her behind her back, not cool. And let’s be frankly honest, who hasn’t drunkenly eaten their leftovers with their fingers, oh I forget they are all absurdly skinny so, maybe none of them…my bad.
When the rose ceremony arrived, I was surprised that Matt decided to leave. Not because I think him and Jasmine were meant to be together, but because he seemed to be having a good time and who wants vacation to end? Jasmine is great tv, so I am glad he returned to present her with a rose, and the facial expressions alone were worth this interaction!
And the return of the Canadian! There is something wrong with you if you don’t thoroughly enjoy Daniel…do I want to date him, absolutely not, Lacey is cray-cray, but he is hilarious to watch! I can’t tell if Lacey and Daniel knew each other before, because of her intense crush and reaction to his arrival, or if she is just a fan of his. Either way, I am glad that he chose her for his date, mostly because I know he will for certain be here for a while longer. The more Daniel the better!
Ok, so I put it off long enough…Dean. Those dreamy looks are only getting you so far here Deanie Babies. Am I mad at the way Dean is behaving? Yes. Do I feel horribly bad for Kristina? Absolutely. Do I hate D-lo? For sure. But, give me a second here to look at the hypocrisy of our Bachelor nation outrage…If Dean was/is the new Bachelor, wouldn’t we all be applauding him for “getting to know” multiple girls. We wouldn’t fault him for kissing two girls or carrying on a relationship with both. But here in Paradise we are livid with him…So, what is different?
Well, I guess Paradise is considered more like real life. In the real world, it’s not ok for a guy to lead multiple women on, but doesn’t it happen all the time? Dean is confused, faced with two girls he likes and the inability to escape either of them and think it out. I think deep down he knows what he is doing is beyond wrong, but he just keeps doing it. It shows his immaturity and maybe he truly thinks it is an episode of The Bachelor.
Kristina’s reaction was devastating. Their bond obviously was strengthened by their time off the show, and I feel bad that she thought they were at a deeper place. Her tears were totally justified, and probably only intensified because the other woman was a friend. The entire time I was screaming at the tv, you need to just go home. I don’t want her to wait for another rose ceremony; I think she needs to take it into her own hands and peace out. That will save her some more heartbreak, and possibly be the shock that Dean needs. And if not, Kristina can move on without having to see the guy she likes with another girl, talk about miserable!
One last thing on Dean, I think going to paradise was a horrible idea for him…he was so loved, and now hated…did this ruin his Bachelor chance? I want the old, lovable Deanie back!
The last portion of this week’s paradise was Corinne. We actually learned a little more about the situation. She was on a medication that she shouldn’t have been drinking on. She said it caused her to blackout, but not act as though she was blacked out. (Seems odd, but I’ll go with it.) While she doesn’t blame anyone, not DeMario or production, I think she failed to see the bigger picture. Her using the word victim in her statement and the racial implications that have surrounded this situation were devastating the DeMario’s reputation. She failed to take ownership of her words and equated what she went through to being the same as what DeMario went through, which were seemingly much different. I am thankful that this rehash is seemingly over, but the skeptic in me still thinks it was a ploy for publicity…
There are only two more weeks left, and then I will have to contemplate existing in a world without The Bachelor…for a few months anyway
Other Bachelor news, Nick and Vanessa have called it quits. Oh, Nick we aren’t surprised, maybe he’ll be calling up Raven…
