Was anyone else in Bachelorette withdrawals last week?! Granted we had lots of Bachelor in Paradise drama to keep us going! It was frankly sad how excited I got when I learned yesterday that filming has resumed…sick I know! This week’s episode of The Bachelorette is when things are starting to get interesting. They always seem to step up when they start to travel, and the drama was for sure stepped up this week.
Does anyone else think these men on the Bachelorette are way worse than the woman on the Bachelor?! First off, they can’t keep straight who they dislike; at least women pick one and stick with them! Iggy is the worst; I don’t understand why he is still even there! He is way more into talking about other guys than focusing on Rachel…um BYE! Plus, can he buy a bigger shirt?!
Lee is obviously a racist POS that thinks he can “control” the emotions of the black men by merely laughing in their faces. I find him totally appalling, and would like to remind him that every black man there is SIGNIFICANTLY more intelligent and attractive than he will EVER be. Good luck getting a girl after this display, Lee. Honestly, I know that the producers casted him for drama, but Rachel deserves better than a racist singer/songwriter with bad hair.
I’m moving on to what I love best about this show, and that is the sweet, caring likes of Dean. If you have not joined me on the Dean train, honestly what is wrong with you?! I knew from the beginning that I liked this guy, and after this date I’m #inlove, well as much as in love with a guy on a reality tv show as one can be.
He is super cute, has gorge eyes, and perfect teeth; but on top of him being totally attractive he showcased so much more during this date. He was adorable with his fear of being in a blimp, which frankly does not seem that scary. But then he stepped up and was driving it, feeling totally comfortable. Nothing like overcoming a fear when growing a relationship, and I think Rachel was totally feeling it.
Then came the dinner portion of the date, and I was crying hysterically. The conversation about his mother’s battle with breast cancer was so real and raw, I couldn’t help it. This did not seem like a produced moment as these big reveals often feel like, i.e. Kristina on Nick’s season (heartbreaking, but felt like it was a little forced). This felt like a natural part of the conversation, and it showed that Dean may be young, but he had to grow up quickly after losing his mom.
If Rachel doesn’t marry this guy (which I honestly think it’s going to be Peter or Bryan); Dean I am available! 😉
Then came the largest group date ever created which included a boat ride and a spelling bee; all in good fun. I like Josiah, even if the other men find him annoying, I think that is just his nerves coming out and overcompensating. I like he’s kind of goofy and his smile is dreamy.
The drama of course includes Lee, who every likeable guy is avoiding like the plague (see Dean and Peter). Why Lee is picking on Kenny, the single dad, is beyond me; but I think he looks down on him and maybe most of the other guys. The idea that Lee is saying Kenny is aggressive only notes to Lee’s racist tendency. Whatever happens next week, I just hope Kenny keeps his cool and shows Lee what a real man acts like!
Ok, so one more thing…I had some up and down emotions about my fave Bachelorette, Rachel, this week. First off, I felt for her when she was crying about being under a lot a pressure, particularly being the first African American Bachelorette. I can only imagine her feeling like she has to not only do right by herself, but be a strong representation for all black women. The pressure must be immense, so I totally appreciate her breakdown showing how seriously she is taking this whole thing.
Then when it comes to the whole Lee and Kenny situation, I was disappointed. Frankly, I don’t know why she kept Lee around (while getting rid of cute Diggy!); and I don’t know why she seemingly believes him over Kenny. Her relationship with Kenny seemed so good, so it’s weird that she wouldn’t take his word over Lee’s. I hope that Rachel comes to her senses, and realizes that Lee is a douche who needs to go. I also hope that Kenny doesn’t now get aggressive towards Lee because that is what Lee wants. Oh the drama!! Next week looks intense, bloodshed and all!
