And so ends another season of Bachelor in Paradise, and even after only 11 days of shooting we got ourselves a proposal. Not a surprise that was announced weeks ago…What was surprising were Raven and Adam, the twists of the Amanda/Robby relationship, and of course the emotional rollercoaster that was Dean.
This week began with Chris Harrison concluding Paradise and telling the couples to head home or to the fantasy suite. I mean it had been 11 days; everyone should have formed long-term committed relationships by now! (Note that is dripping with sarcasm!) So, naturally everyone starts to run scared. Couples were crashing faster than the waves on that Mexican beach.
First Jack Stone and Christen’s break-up was as awkward as you would imagine it to be. I think Jack Stone was just saying why don’t we leave here and explore if a relationship is possible and for some reason Christen was completely freaked out. So, instead she went swimming…
I was surprised that Diggy broke up with Dom and wanted to continue with Jamie. Not surprisingly, Jamie was not ready to Fantasy Suite it up with Diggy after one date. Should’ve chosen Dom, Diggy! Jasmine and Tickle obviously weren’t continuing, no surprise there! She was still reeling from her break up with Matt, who was surprisingly absent from the reunion!
Then onto my favorite Social Media Influencers…I am going to say it, and I know A LOT of people are going to disagree with me, but I don’t like Amanda. I think this over-the-top sweet, cutesy thing is a total act. She is just as rude and obnoxious as the twins. Robby is also not my favorite, that hair-I can’t. I would not be surprised if the Amanda/Robby break up was totally planned by them for attention. Like let’s break-up, then be spotted together, and then announce our relationship on the reunion. At that point, I think Amanda flipped the switch on Robby to make him come off as an ass and cheater (just like Josh Murray, even though we all knew Josh was an ass, there was an entire book written about it!). It’s all about the followers with these two and I am over it.
The award for the most shocking break-up on a daybed goes to my one and only, Dean. Sorry D-Lo, but I could not have been more excited for this break-up. This was exactly what I was hoping for Dean, to realize his mistakes and his feelings and make it right. He loves Kristina! He made a huge mistake! I woke up and wanted to talk to her and only her! SWOOON!! I was texting everyone saying “MY DEAN IS BACK!” Needless to say…I may have spoken too soon…more on that later.
Three couples remained, Taylor and Derek, Raven and Adam, and Lacey and Daniel. Off to the fantasy suites we went.
Now, I only know Daniel from TV, and even I know that that guy is in no way looking to settle down. So, I was shocked when he said he was falling in love with Lacey, but, like her, I was taking him at his word. However, I was not surprised to find out that Daniel was not really in love with Lacey or that his relationship with Vinny is stronger than his bond with Lacey. Should’ve seen that one coming, Lace, but I couldn’t help but feel for her. I am glad to hear her say that they are “never, ever getting back together!” Good for you, girl!
Raven was nervous about this fantasy suite date, probably wondering if Adam could give her the orgasm that Nick Viall did…Lucky for her (and Adam) it seemed to go really well and solidified their feelings for each other. Then we see that they are still together! That was actually a shock! They seem cute together, but I was not expecting a successful relationship! Yay! The whole parent meeting on the stage was a weird production ploy, but I am rooting for Radam…Aden…whatever their couple name is!
Taylor and Derek’s fantasy suite date was…well…awkward to watch…the things that Taylor says regarding sex make my skin crawl. But, hey it’s working for her! We all knew the proposal was coming, but it was very sentimental and they do seem to actually know each other, always a good sign. I am hopeful that this will be one of those successful relationships of the show, maybe even a paradise wedding in our future!
Lastly on to my Dean…Frankly, after last night’s episode I was exhausted from the ups and downs of my feelings for Dean. I, like most people, have found it very hard to like Dean during Paradise despite his dreamy good looks. However, when he sat down with D-Lo and I heard the word “but” I shrieked with glee. Then he went on and on about how he missed Kristina and he cried that he loved her and royally messed it up. He was back, my Dean was back, and then the live show. I was hopeful for how it was going to go…he looked super uncomfortable and lacked that winning smile.
He continued with the “I made a mistake,” “don’t blame each other ladies,” “I should have treated Kristina better,” “I unfollowed her because it hurt me to look at her pictures”…saying all the right things. And Kristina was graciously accepting what he was saying, but was clear that she was taking a cue from Taylor Swift and Lacey and never ever getting back together, but she hoped he learned to never treat anyone like that again. This couldn’t have been going better!…and then D-Lo…
Ok, I know I’m not supposed to hate D-Lo because the situation truly wasn’t her fault, you know woman power and all, but I can’t help it; I never liked her and probably never will. She drops an epic bomb…Dean had been talking and hooking up with her (this I inferred, but I am going with it) after they left paradise!! So, Dean stop making it seem like you’ve been pining after Kristina all this time, you screwed both of us!…Talk about a mic drop…And then the conversation was over!!!
I was left confused…do I like Dean, again? Am I pissed again? Is he the sweet Dean I thought he was? Was this his formulated redemption tour and D-Lo just rightfully blew it up? AGHH I DON’T KNOW!! I guess I am undecided on how I feel about Dean…I want to love him again but I don’t know if I do…
Now that Paradise is over we will have a break, and frankly as much as I love this show I am a little over these people! (I need some time away from Dean to recover hahahaha) However, The Bachelor returns in January and it was announced last week it is Arie! Now, those who are not Bachelor diehards may have no idea who this guy is, but as Emily’s runner up he was a catch in 2012.
At first I was totally confused by this decision, but now I couldn’t be happier. I am over the people who are just in it for fame-cue Robby and Amanda-by choosing someone from the old school Bachelor family, I am hoping to bring back to charm of The Bachelor, when people were looking for love not just diamond rings and social media followers. (Shameless plug – make sure you are following me on Instagram!) I also like that he is older, so hopefully the women will be older, and this will really be about finding love; with a little drama sprinkled in for fun!
Until next season, my friends…
Just kidding, keep reading my blog! Loves!
