The thing about Bachelor in Paradise, is that as the season goes on it gets more and more boring. Oh sure, loving committed relationships are wonderful, but I watch Paradise for the drama. While this week we had a good deal of it, cue my meltdown regarding my, sigh, Dean. There were also A LOT of useless, annoying moments brought to you by the arrival of the two worst things to come out of this franchise, the twins.
Let’s begin with the true drama of Paradise, the Dean/Kristina/D-Lo love triangle. My love of Dean has slowly waned in the recent weeks, along with most of Bachelor Nation; but this may have been the final nail in the coffin. You chose D-LO!!!??? Ugh, not even Nick Viall was totally sucked in by those boobs!
Ok, so I am convince that Deanie Babies is just that, too immature to want a committed relationship. Maybe he is still reeling from his break-up with Rachel, and no one can blame him for that. However, the way he treated Kristina was just wrong. He flipped and he flopped between these two girls and told each of them exactly what they needed to hear at every step. It was bad Dean, real bad, and as much as I am sucked into those dreamy eyes and perfectly white teeth, I can’t let you get away with this one.
If you did not completely sympathize with Kristina, there is something wrong with you. While I ached for her to stand up for herself, girl you survived a Russian orphanage, you can stand up to Dean, I think she was totally sucked in by the connection they had made during the break and was thrown for a total loop when D-Lo showed up and Dean waivered. While Kristina’s fight with Raven seemed to me like she was taking her anger out on the wrong person, been there girl, her anger was justified. Dean was not alone in his behavior, and D-Lo and Kristina were friends prior to the show, so the least D-Lo could have done was showed Kristina a little common courtesy.
I am not sure if I would have waited until a rose ceremony to leave like Kristina did, however, I think that she had to leave. Not sure if she should have let Dean walk her out; I think she should have let him have it a little more. Also, if I was her friend I would have thrown down with Dean, where are these girls?! They only make their comments during confessionals?! If my friend can’t stand up for herself, you better believe I will go after the guy especially after how he treated Kristina! Talk about a lame girl squad! Jasmine that would have been good TV!!
Christen is the big standout in Paradise, the men (and Amber!) are loving her. Granted, the men who are into her do seem to be the bottom of the barrel, sorry Jack Stone and Tickle Monster…Also, I refuse to call her scallop fingers because I think it is rude, but I am glad that Wells and Raven finally cued her into the joke. Now she can embrace those who are making fun of her and turn it around. She is right, scallops are delicious. I guess if that is the only thing about you that can be made fun of you are doing ok!
The other relationships in Paradise at this point are pretty boring. Amanda and Robby are a little too perfect, it may be slightly revolting. I will say that Robby has grown on me this season…I thought there would be no return after “Social Media Influencer.”
Raven and Adam, while being an odd pairing in my mind, seem to be going strong. The previews, however, could lend to a little trouble in Paradise for these two. Derek and Taylor…well by now we all know they get engaged, so nothing to really note there.
The less solid couples are obviously Tickle and Jasmine, don’t see that going anywhere. Diggy/Dom/Amber…I really hope that Diggy sticks with Dom, I really think she is sweet. At this point, I am not even sure if I am missing anyone! Hahaha Oh! Daniel and Lacey, ya that ain’t gonna last!
Now onto the Twins, ugh! First off, if you didn’t already know this they both are in relationships so this entire thing was a complete stunt. I used to find them slightly entertaining, but they have turned the table into super annoying. Clearly, production sent them in to cause drama and they were obviously told to go for Dean and Derek. It was obnoxious and I was oftentimes tempted to fast forward right through it. Girls, your 15 seconds of fame is over please get off my television screen.
Next week is the end, and while I always miss it when it’s gone, this Paradise is getting a little old…
